This is kind of a cute idea, and I apparently joined DeviantArt in 2004, so it's the ten year anniversary for me!
I remember that I joined right at the beginning of college, and the first few devinations were things from one of my old sketchbooks. Though I've always drawn as a hobby, it wasn't until I had my own laptop and scanner that I was able to share things with others. For a time, everything was a scan of traditional art, since I didn't have any serious graphics programs or a tablet.
That all changed in summer of 2006, when I bought myself a graphire 4 tablet and a copy of MangaStudio 3. I finally had a way to make the kind of art I'd always wanted to. Things started off rough and unskilled, and over the last several years they've grown...less terrible, haha.
While I still have quite a ways to go and many, many things to learn, it's been fun keeping a record of my progress here on DA. Because I'm pushing 30 and a sentimental person as it is, I'll continue to use DA in the future as a convenient way to see my growth as an artist over time. It's fun to go back and read the descriptions I put for certain pieces, to remember creating them, to see old comments from friends. It's like a digital time capsule that keeps expanding as I move forward in life.
Sometimes I like to look over previous ideas I've had for stories or comics, and see if I can't update or rework them into something now.
Though I'm not active on DA like some people are, there are some very wonderful folks that I've watched (and/or have watched me) that have been such an inspiration and encouragement. Thanks to all of you!
Normally I'm much more long-winded about things like this, but I'm trying to get ready for a festival tonight in my town and a vacation to Hawaii tomorrow. If you're reading this, I hope you have a wonderful day, every day, for the rest of your life!~

Somehow, It's Summer Again
There's going to be a 15th anniversary Digimon Adventure event in Odaiba this year on August 1st. We're talking Bokura no War Game on a giant screen, a live performance by Wada Kouji, and the sale of special 15th anniversary digivices.
I WANT TO GO MORE THAN YOU CAN BELIEVE.
Funnily enough, I was in Japan for the ten year anniversary as well, but because I was going to be leaving to head back to the States not too long after that I ended up doing some stuff with friends that day instead of going to Odaiba.
This year though...
Also, I take the 一級 this Sunday. Pretty nervous, though hopefully all my studying will have paid off
That's Not Funny! She Died!
Just got back from a five day summer camp where I made a slew of new friends and had an awesome time teaching the kids. Plus it was nice and cool up in the Nagano mountains, unlike down here in Tokyo. (-^-)ノ
Anyway, I got my visa renewed and picked up my new residence card today; I won't have to worry about it again for another three years! Yes! 2016 is also when I have to renew my passport, so it's going to be a busy year.
School starts up again next week, so I'm going to have to work myself back into a normal sleep schedule. Heh, we'll see how that goes.
Tomorrow is payday, so I'm going to go to sleep s
I've Come Home
'Sup y'all?
Well, I survived my move from Osaka to Kanagawa, and while I wouldn't exactly call it "seamless," it did go pretty well once I was in motion. Plus, I heard back today that my old place was in stellar condition so I won't be charged the extra cleaning fees. This is great news as I'm trying to get by on one month's wage over ten weeks. Now I'll get a bit more to help out next week.
Anyway, it's weird being back in Kanto. I live in Hashimoto now, which is right near Hachioji, where I used to live during study abroad. Still, I'm right between Tokyo and Yokohama, and my current place is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY closer to the busy section of to
Want to Have a Bit of Change-up Here
So I hope everyone's holidays went well--my Christmas visit back to America was a lot of fun but it wiped me. I've been a bit of a 引きこもり the past few days trying to get myself into a healthy sleep cycle to get back to school tomorrow. May have an online Skype interview kind of deal today (though I haven't heard back yet from my contact, so it's most likely later in the week) so feeling a bit anxious over that.
Then coffee later on today with a bunch of friends in Namba. Hells yes!
My goal for 2013 is to do some more art-type stuff. I did do quite a bit in 2012 considering some of my previous years, but I w
