'Sup y'all?
Well, I survived my move from Osaka to Kanagawa, and while I wouldn't exactly call it "seamless," it did go pretty well once I was in motion. Plus, I heard back today that my old place was in stellar condition so I won't be charged the extra cleaning fees. This is great news as I'm trying to get by on one month's wage over ten weeks. Now I'll get a bit more to help out next week.
Anyway, it's weird being back in Kanto. I live in Hashimoto now, which is right near Hachioji, where I used to live during study abroad. Still, I'm right between Tokyo and Yokohama, and my current place is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY closer to the busy section of town. Despite that, my apartment complex is pretty quiet. There's a river about two blocks away and I'm right next to a graveyard and Buddhist temple too, so that's nice.
Meeting up with a few of my Japanese friends this weekend, which should be awesome times. Still can't quite process that I can see them whenever our work schedules allow. For the last four years it's always been a once-a-year get-together so it'll take a bit to figure out how to process the new setup.
Making a bunch of new friends too, which is always great! Of course I'll miss my Osaka pals like crazy (particularly Janina, Shane, and Sarah, who all went back to Europe) but Patrick's in Yokohama, D-Bro's in Nagoya, Berni and Lee are still in Osaka, and I've got most of my study abroad friends in the area.
All around pretty amazing.
